Since the earth began there has always been wind. It comes and it goes, constantly moving. A vast source of energy free for everyone. So just how do you harness the wind? And how do you turn it into energy? The answer to that: Wind power generators. These generators harness the wind’s power and turn it into energy for everyday things.
What Is Wind?
Simply put, wind is air in motion. Wind is a result of solar radiation circulating around the globe. It is an effect of uneven air pressure in our atmosphere. It is affected by geology, latitude, topography, altitude, and [...]

A home windmill or residential wind turbine operates the same way as any other type of turbine-based electricity generator. Regardless of the type of “fuel” used to power the turbine, the principles are the same.
In the early 1800s a British scientist, Michael Faraday, discovered the principle of magnetic induction. In simple terms, what he discovered was that if you moved a magnet near an electrical conductor then electricity was generated. Similarly if you move an electrical conductor near a magnet then electricity is generated.
On top of this, the opposite is true. By introducing electrical energy into a wire near a [...]
